Things in made for my workshop.

Phew. Well the people at SFCC were nice enough to let me go crazy making pretty much whatever i wanted in the studios there for my shop. What did i get done this semester then?
I took a metal work table with drawers that had an MDF tabletop and a pegboard backing with a light steel frame, popped off the top half of it and turned that into the top of a jewelry table/fine work table. It has all the nifty bits- a catch drawer, set of drawers, arm supports that slide out, bench pin holder. The metal bottom of the work table with drawers became the base for a heavy as fuck welding table. I'm not joking- you could set to whomping just about anything on the tabletop and it wouldn't break. The steel is about 3/8 thick, salvaged from a piece over 7 feet long (about 400 pounds originally) at the local scrap yard. Next is a nifty Oxy/Acyt torch holder i designed. It has a pivot point and the torch fits in so snuggly it won't fall out at any angle. Lastly is an anvil and leg vice stand with shelves (shown sans anvil and leg vice). It's made of pressure treat pine and i still want to do some more fine tuning to the support area of the anvil saddle. The anvil will be held down with the bolts you see already installed; they'll just need to be heated and bent over the anvil's legs. The vice will sit on top of the set of shelves at my shoulder height. Yep. I expect to finish up a router table i have all the wood cut for this break. That is...if i find help with the wiring aspect of things.
Next semester i'll be taking Artistic welding. In exchange for being able to use the studio for things like making my gas expeller forge and my charcoal forge i will be making a metal sculpture. Good deal!
